Vitiligo survey

If you have vitiligo, or if you care for someone with vitiligo, we are keen to hear your views. Please read this information carefully before deciding whether to take part in this survey. It is completely up to you whether or not you would like to take part.

What is the research about?

We are carrying out a study to find out more about the experiences of people with vitiligo around seeking information or help for this condition. The Vitiligo Society and Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology (University of Nottingham) are helping us with this. You have been contacted because of your previous contact with these organisations about vitiligo.

What will happen to me if I take part?

There are two parts to this survey, which should take 10 to 20 minutes to complete: Part 1 asks for your views and experiences about seeking information or help for vitiligo, Part 2 asks some questions about you (or whoever has vitiligo if you are answering on their behalf).

Will my participation be confidential?

Your responses to survey questions will be held in a secure database at the University of Southampton. All identifying information, such as IP or email address, will be removed before the data is analysed. All findings from the survey will be published anonymously – your name will not appear in any reports.

Can I change my mind and withdraw from the study?

You can contact the study team and we will delete your information if you request us to do so at any time. After the data has been analysed it will not be possible to remove anonymised information.

Where can I get more information?

You can contact us for more information (email: m.santer@soton.ac.uk or telephone: 023 8024 1019). Alternatively, you can contact the Research Governance Office at the University of Southampton  (email: rgoinfo@soton.ac.uk  or telephone: 023 8059 5058).

Thank you for reading about our study.
