Provision of crowding information

Please read this information carefully before deciding to take part in this study.

I am Dr Jisun Kim, an academic researcher of the Transportation Research Group at the University of Southampton.

What is the research about?

I am conducting a rail project funded by Rail Safety Standards Board investigating into users’ needs while travelling on train in crowding conditions. The collected data will help us shape design requirements to improve service information systems.

What will happen to me if I take part?

You will be asked to fill out an online questionnaire survey form. It will take approximately 7-10 minutes. You will be given a set of designed information about train occupancy, and will be asked to rate your opinions about it. Subsequently, two different travel scenarios will be provided, and you will be asked to answer questions about how you would react in those situations.

I would recommend you to use a computer to fill in the form because it contains images that might not be rendered properly on mobile devices.

- Your responses will be anonymised and kept confidential.

- You can withdraw anytime without giving reasons.

- If you have any questions or concerns regarding completion of the questionnaire, please contact me (j.kim@soton.ac.uk).

- In the unlikely case of concern or complaint, you should contact the Research Governance Manager (02380 595058, rgoinfo@soton.ac.uk).
