Survey on Teacher Motivation and Leadership Style

Dear teachers,

I am Yingdi Chen from School of Education, University of Southampton in the UK. I am requesting your participation in this study regarding exploring the effects of leadership styles on teacher motivation to work in the context of Chinese higher educational institutions. The population of this study are all the teachers who are teaching in Chinese higher educational institutions. If you are welcome to participate in our survey. This survey will involve completing a questionnaire which consists of three sections: Demographic Information, Teacher Motivation, and Leadership Behaviour Description. It is estimated that it will take approximately fifteen to twenty minutes to complete. Please ensure that you answer all the questions. They are not intended to be an evaluation of your supervisor. It is important that you answer the questions honestly, frankly, and from your own perspective.
All participants in the study will remain anonymous throughout any publications and at no point will we use any identifying information or comments. The information obtained from teachers will remain strictly confidential and the reporting of results will be only used by the researcher for academic purposes. All recordings and files will be stored on a password protected University computer. On completion of the study all records will be destroyed in compliance with the University of Southampton’s data protection policy.
